Russian Kale

Russian Kale or borecole is a form of cabbage, it's leaves are purple, and the the central leaves do not form a head. It is considered to be closer to wild cabbage than most domesticated forms.

The oak-leaf shaped leaves of this kale are excellent for salad greens when leaves are thumb size; larger leaves make delicious and nutritious cooked greens.

They have the same general companion profile as all brassica (cabbage, kolhrabi, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, etc)

It Helps: Cabbage, cauliflower, radish, Brussels sprouts, turnips

Action: Repels / Distracts various pests

Planting: you can plant these in the spring when the soil is workable.
