Dill

Dill -The vegetable - you can harvest the fronds during the whole life of the plant. The mature stalks, blossom heads and the fronds are used for dill pickles.

Dill -The spice - are the seeds of this plant. Plants intended for seed, for further planting should not be grown near fennel, as the two species can hybridize. The seeds are viable for 3-10 years.

It helps: The CabbageFamily; Improves growth and health of cabbage. Corn, Lettuce, Onions, Cucumbers

Action: Attracts Hoverflies, Wasps, Tomato Horn Worms, honeybees, Ichneumonid Wasps. Repels/ Distracts Aphids, spider mites, squash bugs, cabbage looper

Avoid Growing with: carrots, tomatoes. Dill does attract the tomato horn worm so it would be useful to plant it somewhere away from your tomato plants to keep the destructive horn worm away from them.

Do plant dill in an appropriate spot for the swallowtail butterfly caterpillars to feed on. Even their caterpillars are beautiful.
